Sedaris and Flickr made me pay...
...for a pro account. Yes folks. I thought I'd never really pay for a photo hosting service, but I impulsively did when I suddenly found all my precious pictures (except for 157) were all gone and no longer accessible (damn you yahoo). I was almost going to faint until I read their help section extensively. So just to see whether it was a glitch or infact due to having restrictions to a free account, I opted to pay for a year of flickr pro. So I guess I'll be experiencing the perks of that and no longer will I be worrying about upload bandwidth limits, ads and set limits :)
I didn't get into any of his works until after his popularity kind of quietted down. I was always intrigued about the naked Barbie cover, the chalk marks and the corduroy pants. After hearing one of his monologues and stint on NPR, I understand why the average literary elite and wanna be indie hipster dotes on his work. It is quite enjoyable, poignant, and very funny. We'll see if this collection of essays match up. Either way, I look forward to some of the additional material that he includes in this set. His works are always so amusing even though many of the topics are quite serious. Intelligent man, with a refreshing and prolific writing style and unfortunate childhood. I shall never grow tired of. He and Malcom Gladwell do such great jobs writing about the nuances of life. Highly recommended read.
I also bought David Sedaris' new book "When You Are Engulfed in Flames".
