Apartment hunting...again
Apartment hunting is always a pain. I've been pretty lucky thus far with my current place. I'm quite spoiled I would say with how I have it atm. If rent wasn't going to increase and my roommate didn't have to leave, I'd just stay here and make it really nice. Unfortunately that is not the case and I've decided I'd rather find a new place than look for another roommate. I would rather not pay another month of rent if I am unable to find someone to take my roomate's spot.
So today Art and I went to check out a possible place. It's located in Palms. The apartment is eehh ok I guess. The potential roommate is an older woman who seems to be really nice. The room is pretty big with walk-in closet, dresser, bed and additional storage. I also get my own room and parking. What sucks is the place is kinda dirty. It's very old lady style and messy. I really want a place that is clean where I feel like I can feel comfortable in. I hate the bed and dresser (call me picky, but it's really eeeh). However, I do realize given the situation, rent is definitely cheap for having my own bathroom, bedroom with closet and parking around LA. *sigh* I'd also have to pay for my own internet. Otherwise all other utilities are included.
Since Art has work in the afternoon, Cris will be checking the place with me. This one is near Cris's place (literally 3 streets away). I could walk to his place if I needed sugar or something. The rent is slightly higher, but since I don't have to open an online account, I'm good to go. So in the end, it comes out to the same thing. The down side is I would be sharing the place with 3 other people. One girl, and a couple. I'd still have my own room, but parking is on the street and I'd have to share 1.5 bath. That's kinda meh. But I will reserve complete judgement until I see it. I'd like to secure a spot asap though. I'm scared I won't be able to find a place that cheap that is month to month with utilities included. That definitely would be better than having to worry about how much of the utilities to use when it's just set like that. Another perk is it's a lot closer to my practicum site, so the drive won't be as bad as if I stay here. It has direct access to the 10, but I'm far from the 405 unlike when I'm here. Plus, I'll be farther from school, so studying there will be a bit harder. It might be more feasable to study at UCLA instead. Maybe I should apply for parking and renew my volunteer status...
