Car drama
So yesterday me and my internship crew/classmates/co-workers went to eat lunch at Westsubs down in Culver City. Our meeting adjourned for lunch and we had about an hour. After a nice satisfying taro slush boba, and chicken cal wrap with salad and sliced cantaloupe, the nice servers gave us complimentary white chocolate chip ice cream :) Stuffed, we decided to hurry back. We were going to be late. Westsubs is great, but damn they take their time and don't really rush anyone on their order or making the food. Anyway, we get in my suv and I turn the ignition *click* click*. I try again *click click* and again *click click* and I am mortified. *oh hell no* this could not be happening. Right when we had such a great lunch my car dies and we are now late. I am in a panic and did not know what to do. They call all the people they knew who had AAA. I have Geico and think about possibly getting the car towed, but decide not to be hasty. We are right infront of a Kragen Auto Parts store and the guy checks my car and says it could be a battery, but their battery tester isn't working. GREAT. So we are left with nothing.
The good thing is I was in a parking space with no restrictions and I am maybe half a mile away from my apartment, so I could walk home if I had to. What I was worried about was inconveniencing the other three girls and missing the meeting. Luckily one of us got hold of our awesome specialist (who is the best person ever) who left the meeting and picked us up. She happened to take her van today so it fit all of us. My friend said things happen for a reason and I believe they do. It would have sucked had it happened on a week day. It would have sucked if I was at a school site. I was lucky it happened towards the end of the day, near my apartment. We got to the meeting maybe half an hour late. but we didn't really miss anything. We didn't get repremanded or anything by our director, so that was all ok. As our meeting ended, my other friend drove me to my car. My bf then drove to my car just incase I needed the car towed and needed a ride home. He finally got to the lot and he watched as I turned the ignition *click click* *click click vrrrr* *click vrrrrrrrrrroooom* and my car suddenly was working. I didn't want to risk it dying again, so I drove it straight home.
Today I called my dad and told him what happened. He gets there and the car starts fine. He checks it for about half an hour and there are no issues. So we go to Rutts for dinner. As my brother and dad get ready to leave, he tries to start the car *click click* again. This time, it woudln't start anymore. Dad checks the battery and it seems fine, so the night gets darker and we end up at Autozone to buy a starter. My dad takes the old one out and finally gets the new one in. Nothing. So he puts the old one back in and goes back to Autozone with the battery. It is CLOSED. The worker there who is about to leave tells them of one open till midnight in Echo Park. Brother and dad go there and get the battery checked. It's weak. They get a new battery and will return the starter tomorrow. Dad installs the battery and the car works again, but dad wants to check it more so brother and I switch cars. Poor Brother. I have his stuff too. But dad said they'll be back once he finds out everything is ok. I hope so. I don't feel comfortable driving my brother's car. It smaller than a regular car and I was driving an SUV. Anywho, that's over and family went home. I wasted so much time not studying, but at least I had some time with my family. So tired. Time to sleep and start worrying about my PRAXIS among other things.
