The Call
Yesterday while I was taking a shower, my district supervisor called me a little past 6pm and left a voice mail message. When I got the call asking me to call back, I had just got home from an ADOS training session. I was one of the people responsible for helping the program move along. I don't think I'll ever do something like that again without at least two other people helping me. My field supervisor was supposed to come to the training, but one of the specialists came instead. I thought she called to inquire about that. Then I thought, that would be pretty slim since she had no way of knowing I would be manning the ADOS.
So she tells me to call after 2pm on Saturday and I call around 3:30pm. I'm in. After the long and agonizing wait and packet making, I MADE IT. It felt sooooo good. I was jumping and squealing up and down after I got off the phone with my supervisor. I am still in disbelief, but I'm so blessed to have such a great opportunity. LAUSD was my first choice, paid or un paid. This is where I plan to work in the future regardless of the budget cuts and crisis. If I can make it in LA, I can make it anywhere. I am so glad to have all of that put behind me. Now all I need is to sign the dotted line. Our super at C/W is awesome, and I will say that again. Only so many people will give their personal cell phones to their interns and practicum students and allow you to call her during her family time. She's great and I look forward to being trained by her again this coming internship year. :)
