Billy Joe Armstrong, Paris Hilton, Michael Jordan and Me

Yesterday turned out to be a somewhat ordinary not so ordinary day. Worked with pleasant people, got a few greetings, presents and one unexpected phone call (thanks sweetie *hug*) that really made my day :D. I went home relatively early...I should say left the lab relatively early. I left at 3:20 pm (I normally leave at 5). Because of the sudden drizzle and welcome of the long weekend, traffic was extraordinarily sluggish. When I mean sluggish, I mean the worst traffic flow I've ever experienced coming from LA especially without any accidents going on. What normally would take me 45mins to an hour to get home, even 1.5 hrs tops during rush hour traffic, took me nearly 3 hours. Yes I could have made it to San Digeo or even Mexico. Nevertheless, I was welcomed to a beautiful, most delicious cake I've ever tasted (ah the wonderful people of Breadbasket have changed my perception of beautiful AND delicious cakes *sigh*).

I really don't like cakes, but if all cake tasted as light, and yummy and soft as this, I wouldn't mind eating this all the time. It was a light chocolate mousse cake with strawberry, blueberry, blackberry and raspberry creme filling. Ahhh so yummy *floats*. I don't even like chocolate cakes either but since the cake was so light, including the chocolate cake, it was soooo good. T_T I can only imagine how much it costs. Worth every penny! I was so touched! All the fruit was sweet (despite how it may look) and the milk chocolate shavings all over the top was so soft and light. I have yet to eat the white chocolate with my name on it though ^^

Anyway had a little get-together, which was unexpected. Had some good food and I was really really tired from the drive so I went to bed pretty early. That's how it is when you get old. Thanks to everyone who greeted and celebrated with me yesterday and throught the week. Thank you so much for all the presents, calls, tms, cards, emails, I feel so blessed :D I guess getting old isn't so bad, especially when your friends and family are there regardless of how busy things get. Love you all! Oh and btw, sorry Carlson, disregard that TM! hehe. I'll have the left over pizza!

To LA and Back

Just got back from LA I've been there almost every day this week and I'm so tired. I'm thinking of possibly moving there, but finding a roommate is a biach and the rent is pretty steep. Commuting is killing me, but I'm still relatively young so I can handle it still. Don't know about the crazy drivers though. If all else fails, I'll move in with Cris in Studio City. Ahh but I hate driving on the 101 there. *sigh*. OH well. Yes I'm not making much sense, but that's what being delirious and high on sugar will do to you. Anyway got lots of things done today and this week for that matter. I'm feeling pretty good, hyped up, excited and extremely tired. I think 23 has been good to me. You go Jordan :D Anyway back to LA I go tomorrow. Getting married is so stressful. I can see why some people just elope and go to Vegas. -_-

-Edit 21:26-

Forgot to post pictures from the party last week.
Er, too tired so here's just one.
Drank some plum sake (it's yummy) no gambling for me. Chris came late. Booo

just us keeping it real :P border=

Bruin Basketball: UCLA vs. Arizona State...yes we won :D

Just got back from the game. My friend from college invited me to watch and of course I couldn't pass up seeing a UCLA basketball game :D. It was a lot of fun. I regret not wearing my UCLA sweater though T_T.

On with the game, it was much more comfortable than sitting at the Rose Bowl, but of course people were more civil. It was more fun than fury I guess, especially when we were expected to win. I was disappointed that we didn't win by too much (69-60). But I guess that margin was decent enough. We didn't break into the 100s, so there must be something going on. Tons of fouls that's for sure o.o

Short recap, they (Arizona State) scored first and lead for the first 2-3 shots and that was about it. Thereafter we lead the game and of course we won. We didn't play as well as I had hoped. There were a couple times when the Sundevils were catching up and we were only leading by one or two shots. Luckily the boys were able to keep their lead. There were also a few shady calls from the ref, but that's okay I guess. The Sundevils sucked on defense, but their offense was pretty good. When they actually got hold of the ball, they usually got it in. They got most of their free throws while we had less luck. I guess when you're behind a few points, you have to make sure you sink in those free throws. One guy I do remember from when I was still an undergrad is Cedric Bozeman. I'm surprised he's still there. I guess he's a senior now. He did well this evening. Well I hope our team shapes up and stops letting their guard down. They can't keep being so reckless. They need to stop copying Shaq! One thing I do credit them for is team work. They do a pretty good job there, so I'm glad. Anyway I'm tired and it was gridlock from Westwood to Santa Monica because of the game *bleh* so here I am half and hour late. Time to go sleep and repeat the commute again tomorrow T_T

GO BRUINS!!!
