Michael
One of the most iconic people in the world. I am a fan of his music, not so much a fan of his life, but like everyone else in the world, I am shocked and saddened by his sudden death. He's just as old as my mom :(
I was at my field work site past 2pm. I walk into Room 5 bidding my last good byes to my site and one of the SDC teachers was on her laptop saying MJ is dead. She got it from TMZ. I am both shocked and also in disbelief, but probably more like denial. TMZ gets their info down pretty cold and faster than CNN, so I knew there was a very good chance it was true. She checks CBS and they say the same thing. I can't believe it. I leave the school and turn on the radio and of course KNX, an AM news radio station confirms his death while talking to, none other than a TMZ reporter >_>
Sure enough I get a text msg from my cousin about it and I tell my bf. I see it all on tv. His body is at the UCLA medical center 3 miles away. I could just drive there and show my face on tv, but I didn't want to bother with the rush hour traffic. I could only imagine how bad it was. It's so sad how he died. how uneventful and unexpected. No matter what people say, he was truly a great performer. A strange one, but a great performer. We know so many people will be capitalizing on his death, but at least now he can rest and see what an impact he has on the world.
Goodbye Michael, The boy who never grew up. The music world has seen its last moonwalk.
Remember the Time, You Rocked My World? You make me want to scream, and you gave me butterflies. It was such a Thriller to know who's Bad enough to beat it like my ABC's. It would have been cool to Rock with you. I'll be there, just don't stop till you get enough.
