I am not a cat person, but I wouldn't mind having one of
these as a pet. On a different note, Gallery 1988 is having its third installment of the "
I am 8-bit" exhibit. Ah it feels like only yesterday I was raving about going to this exhibit when it first opened. I'm so glad my friends and I were able to go back then. I wasn't able to go (to the opening reception) this year, but I heard it was a huge success opening night. About 1400 people came lined up the tiny gallery down the corner of Melrose and La Brea :D Check out the
LATimes article. The creator of the Atari was there playing with the 6ft long working Atari control pad. I wish I was there! Alas I still have a picture of us trying to work the giant Nintendo controller playing Super Mario Bros.
I guess I'll be checking it out again this year, but I wonder who will come with me this time??? It's so much harder to gather all my my artsy and video game enthusiastic friends. I remember how hard it was to arrange for all of us to go to the first gallery opening. We all had to plan months in advance. I was so glad everyone came though :D...except for Christine booo! You totally missed that awesome exhibit girl!
Anyway, the work seems to be even more amazing this year (
check this out) and they are going to have a grand opening for a
Gallery 1988 in San Francisco tomorrow! Cool huh?! It's so awesome to have been a part of this exhibit since it's humble beginings. I would have never found this awesome place if it wasn't for
Luke.
