No Jimmy (;_;) SCALPERS DIE

I was totally pumped to finally see JEW at the Avalon in Hollywood in July. I swore I would not miss them this time. Tickets went on sale today at 4pm. Lo and behond, 5 mins later they were sold out. I checked for tickets elsewhere and they're totally scalping them for up to $195 for $30 gen admission tickets! WTF?!!!

I'm SO PISSED. If I weren't so broke right now I'd easily fork over money to buy my originally intended four tickets, but I'm jobless and I just bought 4 cell phones (one per family memeber) and need to pay apartment rent. AHHHHHHHH. SO PISSEDDDDDDD!!!!! YOU SCALPERS BURN IN HELL!

Now I can't even think straight or study! FTW!

Back from my week long "vacation" a little tired, a lot more broke, and slightly more happy. I bought a new phone, the LG VX 9400. It's the same one Robert Downley Jr. uses in the movie Iron Man. I've wanted that phone since it came out and was surprised they used it in the movie. Anywho, it's an awesome phone and worth every penny. My mom and dad decided to upgrade as well and bought matching Blackberry Pearl's. I tried configuring it for my mom. I personally think it's way too complicated for her and even for me, but it is a smart phone, so you essentially have a mini pc in the palm of your hands. The only thing I really like in that phone aside from how cute it is is the GPS. It's pretty nifty. I don't care much for the qwerty keyboard. It's awkward and too small and I already have pretty small fingers and hands.

I saw Iron Man (love RDJ as usual). Gweneth Paltrow was miscast. She was okay, but they could have picked a better female lead. Jeff Bridges was an excellent antagonist and I almost didn't recognize him until I heard his voice. I also saw Harold and Kumar Escape Guantanamo Bay. I was rather disappointed with the direction they took. They largely depended on toilet humor and general stereotypes rather than the more realistic racial issues we experience. I think Kumar got the short end of the stick as this movie focuses on his life, but ironically does not bring any justice to the Indian/Indian American population.

Aside from movies, I had a lot of 1:1 time with my dog Riley. She grew really fast and she's really smart and very cute. I'm just annoyed that I can't make her look groomed because of her scruffy fur. Oh well.

The day of my departure, we also went to the strawberry festival and had some strawberry nachos, strawberry pizza, strawberry beer (okay my dad had the beer cause I don't like beer), strawberry snow cone and some garlic/parmesan fries. We went late in the day after lunch cause it was pretty hot and wanted to avoid the crowed. There were alot of people still though, but it cooled off pretty quickly. We watched a "Queen" concert--they were really, really good btw and then visited my cousins afterwards. I have a lot of pictures, but I'm currently procrastinating on studying for a quiz I have tomorrow. Classes this summer are from 4:00pm-10:10pm twice a week. D: Anyway, looking forward to a real summer break after these 6 weeks.

Fry's had a sorry excuse for a pentablet. I was almost ready to buy it cause it was so cheap just as a little extra something for my laptop when I'm away from my other tablet, but of course I had to check the reviews if it was even worth it. I didn't need something massive like wacom, but this one suffuciently sucked. So much so I forgot the name, but if you look at Fry's best buys for this week it should be on there for about $49. Anyway, in the course of my search and procrastination from finals, I found this. Personally, I don't think it's "pretty" enough, but man it sure good enough for me :)
